Everyone opens with good energy as Miami lands the #1 prospect in the country, Jackson Cantwell… even though his overall rating continues to drop now that he's a Cane. And while no one is surprised that outlets like 247 continue to drop him in the rankings, it's maddening that the narrative around Miami is so different than other schools. Toast, however, is unapologetic for being “the Yankees” of college football. Plus everyone is happy that Carson Beck is throwing and appears to be on a solid road back, as we were all a bit afraid of a setback putting his return behind schedule.
Of course we have to address the story that Mario Crisobal never spoke with Mel Kiper before the draft, after Maio said he heard from everyone but Mel, and ultimately we're not surprised because Kiper has just become a talking head mainstay and not an actual reporter. And after Ro retweeted the list with the lack of Miami accomplishments over the last 11 years, Scoop wants to know if we think it will be easier to win the ACC or the National Championship for Miami.
The wheel of topics covers Bill Belichick and the very real possibility that he'll never coach a game at UNC, the new gravy-flavored KFC ice cream, and the pro golfer who has convinced himself he can train himself to dunk a basketball. And of course we close it out with a round of Five Questions, which this week includes a car where we know the driver is an asshat, things women do that are a turnoff, the most likely cause of a human extinction, where your happy place is, and how your genetics did you dirty.
