We open the show by talking about the upcoming Spring Game which is already sold out - even though it's only at Cobb Stadium, which doesn't seat all that many people. As we get down to Greentree, the question is could Miami have hit lightning twice with Wingo coming in and a freshman and turning so many heads? Scoop also interrupts Greentree for real estate story time, where he got to singing at a recent showing that led to re-releasing all of his band's old music on a bunch of platforms. (The band's name is Releese if you want to find them!)

Roman also tweeted out this week that Miami is in "reload season" and as we look down the line-up of guys getting drafted compared to all the new guys coming in, it's impressive how much they've been able to sustain compared to how much they lost. And that speaks to the new culture they've built in Miami, especially seeing guys who are headed to the pros come back to work with the new guys at Spring practice. Plus we showcase a little of Mario's appearance on Josh Pate's show, speaking on when the season changed for Miami last year, and how the guys feel it will change going into this year.

And as we get further down the depth chart, the discussion about Judd rising up to the 2 spot at QB takes over, with what to expect from Dereon going forward and what it means for his future in Miami. We also hear from Cooper Barkate, who while training in LA talked about the wild transfer process from Duke while Mensah was getting sued. Toast also shines the spotlight on some of the standout freshmen making a name for themselves at Spring practice.

Audio of the week comes to us from the WILD UConn comeback and upset over Duke, as we play both the UConn call (which was awful) and the Duke call (which was borderline hilarious), spinning us into a debate who reigns supreme in Toast's fandom. And the hilarious moment at the Elite Eight where the shot clock horn got stuck.

Instead of Spring Ball, Pro Days or March Madness... we're talking about Pickleball brawls, the saga of Afroman, and quadruple amputee cornhole players with homicide allegations... Welcome to OBB Benched!

We start with the saga of Afroman, who sued an entire police department and then roasted them on the Internet. Everyone chimes in on how much we love the story, and how funny it was that Afroman was most pissed about the cops stealing his mom's lemon pound cake!

From there we get into the wild story about the pickleball brawl at a Florida seniors community, involving a golf cart chase and an alligator, which leads us into stories about the dumbest fights we've ever gotten into. And hands-down the craziest story of the week about the quadruple amputee who allegedly shot an acquaintance then drove away, which ends in absolute hysterics.

Growing up in South Florida, I was 8 when we won our first title in ‘83. I lived every Hurricanes moment, every title, bleeding orange and green. Even as a USF alum, it’s all Canes, all the time.

Toast

Growing up in West Hartford, CT, I needed a college football team in the ‘80s. Miami’s bold 20-0 win over Notre Dame hooked me for life. Moving to South Florida fueled my love for the Canes, and years later, the Orange Bowl Boys podcast was born.

From New Jersey theater geek to South Florida radio, my journey’s been wild. From interning with Toast to Atlanta radio, Braves sports, and co-hosting with NBA greats. Now, I’m here with the Orange Bowl Boys—join the ride!
